Meet-Me Room (MMR)

A neutral interconnection space, standard on every NICPL campus, where carriers and network providers physically cross-connect — no single carrier controls the room.

Dedicated fiber trenches

Multiple trenches sized 10ft (H) x 6ft (W), purpose-built for fiber entry and routing, with cable trays inside for organized, serviceable fiber layout — not conduit stuffed after the fact.

Diverse ingress & egress

Fiber entry and exit on physically separate sides of the campus, as standard on every site — so a single dig-strike or localized fault on one side can't take out both paths.

Carrier-neutral cross-connects

Interconnect with any carrier or network partner directly in the MMR — consistent with NICPL's vendor-neutral colocation model across the whole facility.

Fiber-path protection: enhanced pest control at the entry point

Underground fiber trenches and cable entry points are the highest-risk zone for rodent and pest damage at any facility — a single severed fiber run can take down connectivity for hours, a well-documented industry risk. NICPL closes that gap as a standard build spec: every cable and pipe penetration into the fiber trenches is mechanically sealed, alongside the facility-wide Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program and scheduled inspection cadence covering every cable pathway.
